A local and regional bus service that connects you to Trinity County communities and transit services from Redding to the coast…and beyond!

Trinity Transit is operated by Trinity County Department of Transportation. Trinity Transit was originally operated by the Human Response Network (HRN) when service began in 1988.

In 1988, service began with routes to Hayfork, Douglas City, Lewiston, Weaverville and Junction City.  After several months of operation, the service to Lewiston and Junction City were discontinued, leaving the Hayfork to Weaverville service, which included Douglas City.  Service to Lewiston and Junction City were eventually reinstated.  Later, with the procurement of buses through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, intercity service between Weaverville and Willow Creek and Weaverville and Redding  were added to the line up of service routes, ultimately allowing passengers to travel from Redding to Willow Creek via State Highway 299 for a very reasonable fare.  An A.M. & P.M. service on Tuesdays & Thursdays to  Junction City was added on Nov. 1, 2015, but was cancelled on May 1, 2017. Also on Nov. 1, 2015, Trinity Transit added a second Saturday service each month to all routes – running on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays – which ran for two years and was cancelled starting November 1, 2017; as well as cancellation of the mid day service to Lewiston on Mondays & Fridays – now only offered mid day on Wednesdays, but still running Monday – Friday in the A.M. & the P.M.

Today Trinity Transit operates “intercity”  fixed routes Monday through Friday with Weaverville at the hub – the Willow Creek Line, the Redding Line, the Hayfork Line and the Lewiston Line.

Last year Trinity Transit had 15,600 total boardings.

All Trinity Transit buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts as well as bike racks.

Trinity Transit allows Service Animals on board.  (Small pets confined in pet carriers are also allowed.)
